UTC/WIGAN
UTC's Steve Hall says next month's Challenge Cup tie against Wigan is a chance for the French side to show they deserve a place in Super League.
"It will let us know where we stand for next year and how far we are away," said the former St Helens winger.
"We fancy our chances anyway, let's just put it like that. I think it will be a good game personally."
UTC, who will be known as Perpignan in Super League next season, beat Hull KR to set up a last-16 tie at Wigan.
Despite his optimism, Hall says the club must be on their guard against the Warriors' all-star attack.
"Defence is going to be a key," he said. "We've done our homework so hopefully we can come up with a good game."

uTC Head Coach Steve Deakin had a representative watching Friday's Super League encounter at the JJB Stadum between the Warriors and Widnes Vikings.
Deakin wanted a final check on how the Warriors shaped up before Friday's Powergen Challenge Cup encounter with his French side.
"I've seen Wigan's recent matches against Huddersfield Giants, Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls, so I do know something about them," Deakin
told Rugby Leaguer & League Express.
UTC arrive on Wednesday with a squad of 19 players.
"That's all the players I've got fit, because I've two players out following knee surgery, but we're going to Wigan in good shape.
"My boys know what is expected of them, and what they want to acheive."
Deakin is under know illusions about the challenge facing his side at Wigan.
"I know they've got some injury worries, but they are still a bloody good side.
"They were unlucky to lose by such wide margins to the Rhinos and Bulls.
"In a way what's happened to Wigan and Denis Betts this season is a great investment in their future. With the injuries his side has sustained he's been forced to blood those young players, and now they've got the experience of playing in Super League under their belt.
"That's got to be good for Wigan in the long run."
Now Deakin goes into the last few days of preparation.
"We've been working hard without really talking about playing Wigan. The focus is just on working hard and being prepared."
Wigan Warriors take on French side UTC in the Powergen Challenge Cup this Friday at the JJB Stadium, kick off 8pm. Tickets are now on sale from the Ticket Office and Ticket Hotline: 0870 11-22-552, with a £3 discount for season ticket holders if they purchase before 5pm on Thursday.

Wigan Warriors host the French league leaders UTC at the JJB Stadium on Friday, 8pm, in the 5th Round of the Powergen Challenge Cup and will do so without the services of Danny Tickle and Brian Carney.
Tickle misses out with a calf strain while Carney has a back problem.Joel Tomkins who was in the original 20 is also out through illness so the Warriors have drafted Liam Colbon into the squad to make up the 18. So the Warriors squad is:-
Melling, Dallas, Aspinwall, Wild, Vaealiki, Colbon, Brown, Moran, Seuseu, Newton, Guisset, Hansen, Allen, Beswick, Godwin, Sculthorpe, Hargreaves, Coyle.
UTC have disposed of Gateshead and Hull KR to reach this stage of the competition. They possess a number of talented players with NRL experience including Chris Beattie, the highly rated half backs of Laurent Frayssinous and Julien Rinaldi as well Djamel Fakir who has been described as the Sonny Bill Willliams of French Rugby League.
Coached by Steve Deakin and with assistance from former GB supremo David Waite UTC head to England looking to impress and see this match up as a benchmark with their inclusion in the competition in 12 months time. The sides have met before in this competition in 2002 when the Warriors were convincing 72-6 winners across in France. Brett Dallas with four tries on that day.
The UTC side for the game is :-
Renaud GUIGUE, Justin MURPHY, Matt BICKERSTAFF, Steve HALL,Thomas BOSC, Laurent FRAYSSINOUS,Julien RINALDI,Chris BEATTIE, David BERTHEZENE,Adel FELLOUS,Aurelien COLOGNI,Djamel FAKIR,Sean RUDDER, Pascal JAMPY,Gregory MOUNIS,Julien TOUXAGAS,Romain GAGLIAZZO, Bruno VERGES.
