Perenara is now with the Melbourne Storm , but the other four are team-mates of Jones at the revitalised New Zealand Warriors..
"They are exciting to play with. You don't know what they are going to do when they are learning the way of playing first grade football" said Jones of Tony and Toopi.
" But they have got a huge amount of potential .It will be really good for the them going into a Kiwi camp.They'll gain a heap more experience and come back to the Warriors better players for it.
Jones obviously subscribes to the"if you are good enough then you are old enough" theory . Age does nos come into it.
"We're all picked because we are the right men for the job.they have to go in and earn their jumpers, to make sure they hold onto then for a long time " he said.
As the grandson of famed 1960sKiwis Test front-rower Maunga Emery , Jones Knows all too well the emotional roller-coaster ridden by the new bunch of Test rookies when they learned of their selections.
"Most kids want to play for New Zealand before they want to play for Melbourne , the Warriors , Paramatta , or whoever. These guys will all realise their dreams and it will be a great experience for them"
But one very familiar face will be missing from the team photo.Jones's old St Paul College team mate Joe Vagana has appeared in New Zealand's last 25 Tests n but this week end he will be making the hard yards for Bradford in Britain's Super League.

" I was pretty serious about going , yes , just about evrybody was.There was a huge amount of turmoil and we needed something to secure our futures" he said.
Instead , Warriors fans have considerable cause to be greateful that Jones was first to pledge his allegiance to the club when it came time to put pen to paper.Jones is the face oh the Warriors to so many people; he was first to play 100 first grades gales (consecutive too), and his individual form has never been better.
Jones sat out New Zealand's decisive quarter -final win over France at last year's World Cup , but he warns the tourists should not be taken lightly.

FRENCH club Union Treiziste Catalane (UTC) signed one of the biggest names in rugby league yesterday and is chasing another.
Stacey Jones is a foundation member of the New Zealand-based Warriors. The 28-year-old, veteran of 221 games for the club and 34 Tests as Kiwi halfback, is opting out of his contract a year early.
Just two weeks after the Warriors issued a statement trying to quell rumours Jones wanted to leave at the end of the season, chief executive Mick Watson and Jones announced he would be released early with no hard feelings.
"There's been a lot of speculation about my future lately," Jones said yesterday.
"I couldn't say anything about it before because discussions were still going on about my plans to join UTC next year."
UTC will join the 12-team English Super League next year. It has recruited four former NRL players: Chris Beattie, Matt Bickerstaff, Sean Rudder and Justin Murphy.
The club is allowed six non-European players although assistant coach Paul Donkin, in Sydney this week, said it was negotiating to have the quota raised to eight. With Jones' signature yesterday, Donkin said the club had one more vacancy it was keen to fill.
"We're looking at one more position, probably a prop," Donkin said.
Names like Bryan Fletcher and Ashley Harrison (Souths), Ian Hindmarsh (Raiders), Corey Hughes (Bulldogs) and Luke Bailey (Dragons) have been mentioned but Donkin refused to reveal his wish list.
Australia coach Wayne Bennett, in Brisbane for tonight's Test against the Kiwis, said the NRL and international scene had lost a player of class with Jones's exit.
"I can tell you the NRL will be poorer for his absence. He is, and has been, a wonderful player," Bennett said.
"I'm pleased he's not in the New Zealand team, he'd make a real difference. I certainly wouldn't like to coach a New Zealand team without him."
The Warriors have been grateful for his service as well. Since his first-grade debut in April 1995 Jones has become the club's highest pointscorer with 563 (72 tries, 132 goals, 11 field goals).
Jones said yesterday it was a big move to leave his beloved Warriors.
"This is my 11th season in the NRL. It's tough when you play in it for that long but there are other things I want to do now," he said.
"I want to get away from the spotlight so I can just play football and try to have some normal time with my family. That's why I'm looking forward to going to France."
Jones is a hard act to follow but the Warriors signed Cowboys halfback-hooker Nathan Fien for this season. Lance Hohaia is also an option.
"We have a succession plan in place, which is proven by our acquisition of Nathan, for instance," Watson said. "But we're set to lose the man most identifiable with the Warriors. We won't have another Stacey Jones but we are well placed to move on just the same."

Dans cet article on peut y lire que Jones a choisi la France pour échapper aux projecteurs et à la pression de la NRL qu'il subit depuis 11 ans,
pour pouvoir simplement jouer et profiter de sa famille.
On y apprend aussi que l'UTC aurait droit à six joueurs non européens, mais que Paul Donkin négocierait pour deux de plus.
Pour le moment en ayant deja quatre (Beattie, Bickerstaff, Rudder, Murphy)
il reste un joueur à recruter avec pour préférence un pilier.(voir les noms cités).

le pays est trés petit , et il est tous les jours sur les journaux.....
Il a besoin de s'évader un peu......mais lis les propos de W.Bennett , c'est pas qq , qui aime faire des compliments...pourtant...
T'en fais pas rené , il va te faire rêver celui là , et faire venir un paquet d'usapistes....parce que c'est un phénoméne....ca va les changer des luger , et les argentins .... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Le demi de mêlée des New Zeland Warriors, Stacey Jones, a trouvé un accord de principe pour rejoindre l'UTC (Union Treiziste Catalane) la saison prochaine. L'ancien international du XIII néo-zélandais, 29 ans, compte 34 sélections avec les Kiwis. Avec son club des Warriors, Jones a disputé 221 matches et inscrit 563 points pour 72 essais. Il est considéré comme un des meilleurs spécialistes de rugby à XIII de la planète. Il a été élu meilleur joueur du monde en 2002.
